Moxi™ Skin Rejuvenation Laser- Amarillo, Texas

Refresh. Brighten. Prejuvenate Your Skin. Before Aging Gets Ahead of You

The Mirror Doesn't Lie (But It Doesn't Tell the Whole Story Either)

Maybe you've started noticing things. Not wrinkles, exactly. Not yet. But your skin doesn't look quite as bright as it used to. Foundation settles into places it never did before. That natural glow you had in your twenties? It's dimmed.

Or maybe you're starting to see the faint beginnings of sun damage; a few freckles that weren't there last year, uneven tone across your cheeks, a roughness you can feel more than see. You're not old. But you're also not twenty anymore.

And here's what most people don't realize: by the time you can see aging in the mirror, it's been building beneath your skin for years. The good news? You don't have to wait until things get worse to do something about it.

That's exactly what Moxi® is for.

What Is Moxi®? (And Why Everyone's Talking About "Prejuvenation")

Moxi® by Sciton is a non-ablative fractional laser designed specifically for people who want to get ahead of aging, or gently correct the early signs that have already started to show.

Unlike aggressive resurfacing lasers that require serious downtime (think: a week of peeling, redness, and hiding indoors), Moxi works gently beneath the surface to stimulate your skin's natural renewal process. It targets pigmentation, smooths texture, boosts radiance, and builds collagen, all without the drama of traditional laser treatments.

Think of it as preventive maintenance for your face. Or as we like to call it: prejuvenation.

Why "Prejuvenation" Matters

You've heard of prevention in every other area of health—sunscreen to prevent sun damage, exercise to prevent muscle loss, and good nutrition to prevent disease. So why wouldn't you take the same approach with your skin?

Prejuvenation is the idea that you don't wait until wrinkles are deep and sun damage is severe to start treating your skin. You start now, while your skin is still resilient, still producing collagen, still responsive to treatment. You maintain what you have and prevent what you don't want.

Moxi is the perfect prejuvenation treatment because it's:

-Gentle enough to use in your 20s and 30s without being too aggressive
-Effective enough to deliver real, visible improvements in tone and texture
-Low-downtime enough to fit into your actual life (no week-long recoveries)
-Preventive enough to slow visible aging before it accelerates

If you're the kind of person who thinks ahead, plans ahead, and takes care of things before they become problems—Moxi is for you.

The Science Behind Sun Damage (And Why Moxi Works)

Let's talk about what's really happening to your skin when you spend years under the Texas sun.

UV exposure is cumulative. Every unprotected moment- driving, walking to your car, sitting by a window adds up. Over time, UV rays cause:

Pigmentation Changes

Melanin production goes haywire, creating brown spots, freckles, and uneven tone. What starts as a "summer tan" can become permanent discoloration.

Collagen breakdown

UV radiation degrades the collagen and elastin fibers that keep your skin firm, plump, and smooth. When those fibers break down, your skin thins, loses resilience, and starts to wrinkle.

Vascular Damage in Amarillo- Awaken Medical Aesthetics.png

Vascular damage

The sun weakens tiny blood vessels beneath your skin, causing redness, visible veins, and an overall loss of clarity.

Textural changes

As your skin tries to repair itself from ongoing damage, the turnover process becomes less efficient. Dead cells build up. Skin looks rough, dull, and uneven.

Here's the thing: what you see in the mirror today is only a fraction of the damage that's already there. Much of it is still brewing beneath the surface, waiting to show up in five, ten, fifteen years.

Moxi works at both levels, correcting what's visible and addressing what's building underneath. It uses fractional laser energy to create thousands of microscopic treatment zones in your skin, triggering your body's natural healing response. Your skin sheds damaged cells, produces fresh collagen, and renews itself from the inside out.

The result? Brighter, smoother, more even-toned skin that looks healthier, not just "treated."

How it works

Who Moxi Is For:

  • Prevention-focused patients in their 20s and 30s – You're not seeing major aging yet, but you want to stay ahead of it
  • Patients in their 40s and beyond – You're noticing changes and want a gentle, effective way to address them without aggressive downtime
  • Anyone with melasma or stubborn pigmentation – Moxi is particularly effective for these concerns
  • People who can't take a week off for recovery – Minimal downtime means you can fit Moxi into your real life
  • Patients looking for an alternative to aggressive resurfacing – You want results, but you're not ready for the intensity (or recovery) of CO2 or deep ablative lasers

The Awaken Difference

How Moxi Compares to Other Treatments (And Why You Might Need More Than One)

At Awaken, we don't believe in one-size-fits-all skincare. Different concerns require different tools. Here's how Moxi fits into the bigger picture:

Moxi® vs. BBL® Photofacial

BBL (BroadBand Light) is our IPL photofacial treatment. It targets pigment and redness—brown spots, sun damage, visible veins, and rosacea. It's surface-level correction with zero downtime.

Moxi targets texture, tone, and skin quality. It works deeper, stimulating collagen and improving overall skin health. It has minimal downtime (a few days of redness and roughness).

The bottom line: Many patients do both. BBL clears up surface discoloration. Moxi refines texture and builds long-term skin health. Together, they're a powerhouse combination.

Moxi® vs. Clear + Brilliant®

Clear + Brilliant is a very mild fractional laser—great for maintenance and a subtle glow, but not strong enough for real correction.

Moxi delivers stronger, more noticeable results while still keeping downtime short. If you want actual improvement (not just maintenance), Moxi is the better choice.

Moxi® vs. Halo® Hybrid Laser

Halo is a more aggressive fractional laser that combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths. It delivers dramatic results but requires 4–7 days of downtime (think: red, peeling, social hibernation).

Moxi is gentler and requires only 1–3 days of mild redness and roughness. If you can't take a week off but still want meaningful results, Moxi is your answer.

Moxi Consult

Moxi® vs. CO2 / Fraxel® / Ablative Lasers

Ablative lasers (like CO2 or deep Fraxel) are the heavy hitters. They treat deep wrinkles, scars, and advanced aging—but they require 1–2+ weeks of recovery.

Moxi is non-ablative, meaning it doesn't wound the surface of your skin. It works beneath the surface to stimulate renewal without the intense recovery. It's perfect for patients who want results without the drama.

Not sure which treatment is right for you? That's exactly what your consultation is for. We'll assess your skin, talk through your goals, and design a plan that actually works for your life.

Your Moxi® Experience at Awaken: What to Expect

Before Your Moxi Treatment

During your consultation with Jazi Romero, APRN, FNP, our Certified Laser Professional and expert in advanced skin rejuvenation, we'll evaluate your skin, discuss your goals, and create a customized treatment plan.

To prepare for Moxi:

  • Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning for at least 2 weeks before treatment
  • Skip retinoids and exfoliating products for a few days prior
  • Come with a clean face, no makeup, lotion, or sunscreen on treatment day
  • Let us know if you're on any medications (some can increase sensitivity)

During Your Moxi Treatment

Here's what actually happens during a Moxi session:

Step 1: Prep – We cleanse your skin and apply a topical numbing cream for comfort (about 20–30 minutes).

Step 2: Treatment – Using the Moxi laser handpiece, we deliver precise fractional energy to your skin. The laser creates thousands of microscopic treatment zones that trigger your skin's natural healing response.

What it feels like: Most patients describe it as mild prickling or warmth—very tolerable, especially with numbing. It's not painless, but it's not unbearable either.

How long it takes: 15–30 minutes, depending on the treatment area.

After Your Moxi Treatment

Immediately after, your skin will look pink or red, similar to a mild sunburn. This is completely normal and expected.

What to expect in the days that follow:

Days 1–2: Redness and warmth (think: post-beach glow)
Days 2–4: Skin may feel rough or "sandpapery" as it renews itself
Days 5–7: Roughness resolves, and you start to see the glow

Post-treatment guidelines:

-Keep your skin hydrated. Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer
-Avoid direct sun exposure and wear SPF 30+ daily (this is non-negotiable)
-Skip makeup for the first 24 hours, then you can resume with mineral products
-No intense heat (saunas, hot yoga) or vigorous exercise for 24–48 hours
-Don't pick at any flaking or peeling. Let your skin shed naturally

Most patients return to work and normal activities the next day. The downtime is minimal, but it's not zero.

Moxi Results

Moxi Results: What You'll See (And When)

  • Initial glow: Within 4–5 days, you'll notice your skin looks brighter, smoother, and more radiant. It's subtle but unmistakable.
  • Progressive improvement: Results continue to build over the next 4–6 weeks as your skin produces fresh collagen and renews itself from within.
  • Best results: Most patients achieve optimal outcomes with a series of 3 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Each session builds on the last, progressively improving tone, texture, and overall skin quality.
  • Maintenance: Once you've completed your series, maintenance treatments (1–2 per year) keep your skin looking fresh, healthy, and youthful.

Think of it like working out: the first session feels good, but the real transformation happens with consistency.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Moxi®

Does Moxi® hurt?

Most patients report only mild prickling or warmth during treatment. We apply topical numbing cream beforehand to keep you comfortable. It's not painless, but it's very tolerable.

How soon will I see results?

You'll notice improved glow and texture within 4–5 days. More dramatic results build over several weeks as your skin continues to renew itself. The best results come from a series of 3 treatments.

Is Moxi safe for all skin types?

Yes. Moxi's non-ablative wavelength makes it safe for virtually all skin tones. Settings are adjusted individually based on your skin type and goals.

What's the difference between Moxi and other lasers?

Moxi is a non-ablative fractional laser, meaning it works beneath the surface without wounding the top layer of skin. It delivers real results with minimal downtime- perfect for people who want improvement without intense recovery.

How many treatments will I need?

Most patients see optimal results with 3 Moxi treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Maintenance sessions (1–2 per year) keep your skin looking its best long-term.

How long do HALO results last?

Minimal. Just 1–3 days of redness and rough texture. Most patients return to normal activities the next day. You'll look slightly pink, like you spent time in the sun, but nothing dramatic.

Can I combine Moxi with other treatments?

Absolutely. Many patients pair Moxi with BBL Photofacial, DiamondGlow, or medical-grade skincare for comprehensive rejuvenation. We'll design the right combination for you.

How much does Moxi® cost?

Cost depends on the treatment area and the number of sessions in your personalized plan. We'll provide a clear, transparent estimate during your consultation—no surprises, no pressure.

Can I wear makeup after Moxi?

We recommend waiting 24 hours before applying makeup. After that, mineral makeup is best during the healing process.
